Joe Moreira BJJ's home is at South Coast Martial Arts located in beautiful Costa Mesa, California and is easily accessible from either the 55, 73 or 405 Freeways. Our 15,000 square foot facility can cover all your mixed martial arts needs. We have a full weight and cardio gym, over thirty hanging bags, a boxing ring and over one third of the facility is mat space!
We welcome anyone who has the slightest interest in the sport of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, or submission grappling, to come and check out a class. Feel free to observe the first time or participate. Another great thing about Mater Joe Moreira's Jiu Jitsu de Brazil is that its actually two Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Schools in one. Another Brazilian Jiu Jitsu school shares the same mats called Global Jiu Jitsu Academy. Global Jiu Jitsu Academy is taught by Professor Marcelo Carvalho a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Master Joe Moreira and a black belt in judo.
As Professor Marcelo says, "Two schools, one house," and that is exactly what it feels like. If you sign up with either one of these great Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academys and instructors, you actually get taught by both! And, since both schools share the same mats, there are many options for training partners as the students inter mingle between the two schools and are one big family. We have students who train to compete in tournaments and we have students that train for fun. No matter what your goals are, Jiu Jitsu de Brazil will be able to accommodate your training needs.
